AGA-FGTB Agreement
The Gonzalo Torrente Ballester Foundation and the Galician Association of Artisans open a new cultural and commercial space on Rúa do Vilar
Santiago de Compostela, April 1, 2026. – The Gonzalo Torrente Ballester Foundation (FGTB) and the Galician Association of Artisans (AGA) have just formalized a collaboration agreement to launch a new exhibition and commercial space at the Foundation’s headquarters, located on Rúa do Vilar, in the heart of Santiago de Compostela’s historic quarter.
This agreement will allow the opening to the public of a shared space dedicated to quality Galician craftsmanship and the dissemination of Gonzalo Torrente Ballester’s literary work, thus strengthening the connection between contemporary artistic creation and literary heritage.
The new space, integrated into the Foundation’s reception and shop area, will offer a careful selection of pieces made by artisans associated with AGA, alongside publications and editions linked to the author, creating a unique proposal aimed at both local audiences and cultural tourism.
This initiative is accompanied by a process of reorganization and improvement of the Foundation’s spaces, within the framework of its update plan, which includes the renovation of the public reception area and the optimization of the building’s various uses. As a result, the headquarters will have extended opening hours, with the aim of facilitating access to the permanent exhibition, the shop, and cultural activities throughout the year.
The collaboration between both entities also represents a commitment to a more sustainable and quality tourism model, based on authenticity, local creation, and knowledge of heritage, contributing to the cultural and commercial revitalization of Compostela’s historic quarter.
According to the signatory entities, this new space is born with the desire to become a reference point for visitors, researchers, and culture lovers, integrating literature, craftsmanship, and Galician identity in a privileged location just a few meters from the Cathedral of Santiago.
