The Foundation
A cultural, private and permanent foundation, established in 2001 to fulfil the will of Gonzalo Torrente Ballester. Its main objective is to house and preserve his archive and personal library, in addition to promoting the knowledge and research of his life and work. It is headquartered in Santiago de Compostela.

Activities of the FGTB
The Foundation maintains a permanent programme of cultural activities at its headquarters at Rúa do Vilar nº 7, Santiago de Compostela.

DETAILS | Permanent exhibition based on the one held at the National Library and curated by Carmen Becerra and Darío Villanueva
CONTENT | A journey through the life and work of writer GTB through photographs of the author or taken by him, as well as a selection of his work, with reproductions, first editions and original manuscripts from the Gonzalo Torrente Ballester Foundation, plus a display of the awards received throughout his career. Includes a recreation of his workspace from his last library in Salamanca.

SCHEDULE | The foundation will reopen to the public in 2026 between 15 March and 31 October. For guided tours of the exhibition for groups, you can write to fgtb @ fgtb.org to book your visit day.
RATES | General admission: €3. Reduced admission: €2 for students, people over 65 and pensioners. Free admission: people with disabilities.
